Learn About the Small Claims Pilot
On this site, you will find out about the new Small Claims Pilot procedures designed to ensure earlier and faster solutions for small claims cases. The BC Provincial Court, BC Dispute Resolution Practicum Society and the Ministry of Attorney General have developed pilot projects at Robson Square court house in Vancouver and in Richmond.
Solutions in Small Claims Court
At Robson Square court house in Vancouver, the solutions available to you are Summary Trial, Simplified Trial, Mediation,Trial Conference, and Trials.
In the Richmond registry, all claims up to $5,000 will be decided in a one-hour simplified trial.
This information is also available in French, Chinese, Punjabi and Vietnamese.
What is Small Claims Court?
Small claims court is a court of law that has been designed to meet your needs as a user of the court. It’s meant to be a “do-it-yourself” kind of court, where ordinary people can handle their own cases, whichever side they’re on. This court is for claims up to $25,000.
